how to change the world

Every week, starting on Sunday, I begin to pray about what I might write to you on Monday. I like to keep it fresh and timely, and frankly, react to what I feel you might be needing to hear that day. (Often, frankly, it’s what I need to hear too.)

I take my emails to you very seriously—I know you’re busy, and you don’t have time to read everything that hits your inbox, so the fact you open my email and read it is a honor.

It’s the same way I feel about writing books. It’s a honor, and a great responsibility.

We had a busy weekend, so by the time Sunday night hit, I was bushed and decided to watch a movie.

I chose “Won’t You Be My Neighbor,” with Tom Hanks, about Mister Rogers. Truthfully, I don’t know why I picked it—I was tired, and was seriously thinking about the new Terminator movie. But I felt a nudge in my spirit…

If you haven’t watched the movie, it will bless your soul. But this is not a plug for the movie.

I’d like you to read, if you have time, (or if you don’t, you’ll be blessed if you find the time), the article on which the movie is based.

I teared up three times and cried at the end. Of the article.

I took many thoughts from it, but the two that stand out to me today are:

Little things can become Big.

And…Thank you, God for all the people you’ve put in my life that have changed me.

(BTW, the article is long. But worth it. Best lunchtime reading ever. Oh, and in one section, the author drops a number of F-bombs, in quoting some kids on the street. But it’s only in that section. Just be aware.)

It just takes one person, with a message, a belief, persistence and courage to change the world. Your story matters. (Mister Rogers agrees.)

This is all I have for you today. But, I’m so glad you’re my neighbor.

Have a brilliant day!

We’re going to be going deep into what makes a best-seller, covering everything from Characterization to Plotting, Storyworld, to Emotional writing and even wordsmithing. Can’t wait to spend time with these amazing authors. I think there’s still room – go to: http://www.acfwcosprings.com/WITS2020/
