Building Your Own Facebook Landing Page Using Free Templates

As I’ve mentioned before, a landing page is a critical component for a successful Facebook fan page. Although you may have to invest a couple of hours, it’s well worth the effort. There are several different place you can go to develop your page. The two I’ve found easiest are Wix (www.wix.com)  and Pagemodo (http://www.pagemodo.com/?r=free_footer).

Both of these offer free and subscription based options. I used Wix for my author landing page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Edie-Melson/212307145501921?sk=wall) and Pagemodo for the landing page for Fighting Fear: Winning the War at Home (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fighting-Fear-Winning-the-War-at-Home/210008849071555?sk=wall). I wanted the opportunity to try out both and see if one offered a better product than the other. You can visit both pages and see for yourself the two different looks they offered.

I found them to be very similar in value and ease of use. And while I wouldn’t rate either of them as easy (unless you’re familiar with programming) they are both understandable for the layman. I liked the design options of Pagemodo a little more and will probably use it for all my future landing pages until I find something better.

Do expect to spend at least a couple of hours on this project. There is definitely a learning curve to using these templates. But let me assure you it’s worth the effort!
