Fruit in California!

Hey!  I’m on CA for the FIRST TIME in my life, and you know what — they have FRUIT here!!  My friend has a peach tree and her brother has a LEMON tree!  Here are a couple fun pix!

  1. Yes, dear they do have fruit. My daughter’s in-laws have a tree on one of their farms where they grafted all kinds of fruit to the tree, so they go there and pick and eat.

    But mostly my son-in-law is a nut farmer. Almonds. In California they call them a-monds. They say when they harvest the shake the L out of them. =)

  2. LOL! Susie, you’re funny. But I know what you mean. We do have a lot of variety here and it’s good. And we have one of those trees Sharon mentioned in our backyard. They call it a fruit basket. The peach graft died, but we get apricots, plums and nectarines every year. 🙂

  3. Uh, yeah we do, Susie, hahah… The first time I traveled back to PA to visit my husband’s relatives I was SHOCKED to see fruit wrapped in packages, like meat. When I asked my husband about it, he gave me a ‘duh’ look (my interpretation ;), and reminded me that fruit doesn’t take kindly to snow, and had to be shipped in…lol.
