This week we are pleased to introduce you to Joann Durgin and her new book: Twin Hearts.
Q: Tell us a little bit about Twin Hearts.
A: Josh Grant is a man seeking redemption. He’s not looking for love, but finds it in a most unexpected and tender way. His twin sister, Rebekah, is torn between two very different men: a dashing, British aristocrat offering her the world, and the other a humble, faithful Louisiana lumber man. When family tragedy strikes, the twins lean on Sam and Lexa Lewis and their fellow TeamWork Missions volunteers for encouragement. Together they learn lessons in faith and family and what’s most important in life as they discover it’s time to stake their claim on love, which means a road trip from Louisiana to . . . the peace to be found in seeking and finding the sweetest desires of the heart.
Q: What do you want readers to take away from this story?
A: In this one, I felt the need to bring back Josh, the wayward sheep of my TeamWork crew, and have him find his redemption. As Twin Hearts begins, he’s come to Houston seeking forgiveness from Sam Lewis, his friend and former mentor. There’s a shocking, but very sweet surprise revealed very early in Twin Hearts. One of the takeaways from that predominant storyline is how God’s people aren’t perfect and can fall prey to the same temptations and sins as anyone else. Christians are forgiven, but it also doesn’t entitle us to a blank check for bad behavior. It’s how we ultimately deal with the consequences of our sin that can make a difference and impact others with the love of Christ.
Q: What are some of the reviews you have had?

I loved this book. It is so easy to love the characters in the story. The issues they face and deal with are real and I love how through God they work through the problems. The story has romance and life lessons. It teaches you what being a friend is and how important it is to rely on God. I started reading this series on a Sunday and by Thursday had read all three. Fortunately it is school vacation week and I could stay up to read them. Being a mother of 2 active boys it does not allow for much time to read. I quickly was drawn in with the first book and quickly downloaded the other two to read. I am excited for the fourth book to come out.
It was a pleasure to read this series. It was easy reading and yet I learned a lot from it.
