Checking in…and out…

Hey all!!  I’m back from San Fran (had fun wow-ing my boys with my skydiving video – my 13 year old said, “Oh, I’m so jealous!”  My 17 year old said, “Never in a million years!” and my 11 year old said, (and this is my favorite)  “You are SO cool, mom!!”  *grin*

Anyway, I’m off tomorrow to Philadelphia for the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writer’s Conference — SOOO, more fun pix of San Fran will have to wait.  And I’ll bet you’re all thinking — HELLO, are we EVER going to talk about writing again?  YES, YES!!  Suspense is next on the agenda, and anticipation is the hallmark of Suspense….so….I’ll be blogging as soon as i get back next week.  In the meantime, to get us started — WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE SUSPENSE BOOKS or MOVIES?   Leave a comment and I’ll compile a list to get us started.

Oh – and for fun —

  1. I remember not being able to put down the book Jurassic Park – and I thought every little noise I heard in the house was a dinosaur coming to get me!

I think the most suspenseful movie I’ve seen was the Blair Witch Project, because you never actually see anything scary – it’s all in your imagination. I remember being on the edge of my seat for the entire first viewing of Die Hard, too. I literally sat on the edge of the theater seat the whole time!!

  2. Wonderful interview, Susie and Gina. Susie, I loved what you said about giving to your kids so they will learn to give back. I’m trying to install that value into my boys. They know writing is a big part of my life. My heart soared when they decided to write their own books.

You’re headed to Philly, the opposite corner of my state. Bummer…MN is only 6 weeks away.

  3. One of my favorite suspense movies is What Lies Beneath with Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer. Weird things start happening around the house from a ghost. Radio turns on, door opens, water running in the bathtub, things like that. Freaky. That’s when my own imagination runs away with me. You start hearing things going bump in the night. I like it because it has a twist that you’re not expecting.

And another of my fav’s would be Kiss The Girls with Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd. Creapy movie. Lots of twists and turns. It’s even creapier when watching it at night. Another movie with a few twists and turns. Great movie.
