Can you give the MBT audience a short promo of your story?

In 1784 peace has been declared, but war still rages in the heart of Lark Benton.

Never did Lark think she’d want to escape Emerson Fielding, the man she’s loved all her life. But when he betrays her, she flees to Annapolis, Maryland, the country’s capital. There Lark throws herself into a new circle of friends who force her to examine all she believes.

Emerson follows, determined to reclaim his betrothed. Surprised when she refuses to return with him, he realizes that in this new country he has come to call his own, duty is no longer enough. He must learn to open his heart and soul to something greater … before he loses all he should have been fighting to hold.

What is one piece of writing advice you could give to the MBT Audience?

The best advice I can give is that writing isn’t an emotion. There are books I’ve written that I’m totally in love with, but which can’t find a publishing home. And there are books that are doing well on the market that I was totally unsure of when I sent them to my editor. More important than “knowing” your book is ready is trusting–trusting the Lord in the writing, in the submitting, in the path of each story and of you as a writer. If you’re anything like me, you’re excited about a story one day and questioning it’s worth the next. And that’s normal.

But a big part of faith is learning not to rely on how you feel in a moment, but in what you know in your heart the Lord has asked you to do.

Trust that, rather than the highs or lows.

Do you have any reviews of your book you would like to share?

“I’ve never read a book from the Love Finds You series–until now. I purchased Annapolis because it was written by an author I trust, an author who doesn’t disappoint.

And again, Roseanna White didn’t disappoint.

After reading the book jacket description, I really wondered how Ms. White would pull off a love story when the hero betrays the heroine. But she did it in a believable manner and even drew me in so well that I found myself cheering, not only for the heroine, but the hero! Both Lark and Emerson had some growing up to do, and it was a delightful ride to be a part of that growth.

It was so nice to sit back, relax, and be able to savor a good story. I felt like I was right there. Even the characters’ voices made me feel like I’d traveled back in time. Ms. White also did a wonderful job at weaving in history, the issue of slavery, and history that was new to me, such as the Tories. I never felt like I was getting a “history lesson,” instead, history became its own character, and it naturally moved forward with the plot and other wonderful characters. Annapolis had so much richness to it!

I was really sorry when this story had to end. Roseanna White is my new favorite author.” —  By TheFallingDutchman
